In the fall of 1988 'Charles' Karoly John HARVOTH-ALLAN had decided to go backpacking through British Columbia Canada to explore the place where he was born and to meet family members..Charles was a young man of twenty years old, full of life. Very nice man. Easy to talk to, easy to like, and a person who loved to joke around. He had a very close relationship with his mother Denise..

May 11 1989 Charles sent his final letter home to his Mom by fax from Kelowna BC Canada. During his time in Kelowna Charles was registered at local student job agencies and had accepted various jobs. May 11 1989 Charles registered and camped in one of the local Trailer Parks in Lakeshore Road.

May 26 1989 Charles collected his pay from Flinstones Adventure Park and cashed it at The Royal Bank Orchard Park, Kelowna British Columbia Canada..From there what happened to Charles is unknown..Many leads and stories have surfaced but the actual truth remains to be seen..Did Charles just vanish off the face of the earth? Did Charles meet with foulplay? Was Charles murdered and left somewhere in Canada? These answers have yet to be answered for his mother Denise who has struggled for twenty years looking for answers of her missing son..

What does a mother do or think when her child goes missing and vanishes off the face of the earth? How does a mother move on with her life without her child who was taken from her. A child that she gave birth to, a child who is an extention of herself, a child that she spent twenty years trying to protect and keep safe...I don't have any idea..I can't even begin to imagine what hell her life has and is going through to this day...
Charles has a memorial site ready for him. A place for his remains to spend eternity in peace..A proper place for Denise to go to visit her son..That is if someone would be so bold as to step up to the plate and truly tell the truth as to what happened to Charles and where he is! Twenty years of keeping a secret is just to long and I am sure that by now that secret has certainly eating away at that person who knows the truth of what happend to Charles in May 1989...

Alice Donovan, My mother who is sadly missed and deeply loved

On November 14th 2002 my family got up that morning and did their normal routine in life..We all got ready for work and my mom Alice Donovan had the day off and was looking forward to her day of relaxation and rest before she had to start a new work week..

At noon mom decided to go to walmart to start her christmas shopping. She pulled in the Walmart parking lot at 2:39pm, parked in a parking spot but never made it into the store.She was ambushed by to young men with guns who forced her to drive away in her car with them..She spent three hours begging and pleading for her life. All her attempts to have her captives let her free failed..After raping her repeatedly and recieving a large chunk of money from her bank accounts they murdered her and left her body in a wooded area in Horry County South Carolina..

Both men were caught several days later and were put in to prision where they surely belonged. But they never told nor brought any law officials to the place where they discarded my mother..

Our family suffered the loss of my mother in different ways..It split our family apart into many different dynamics and the family fell apart. We sat through the trials of both of these men and heard the accounts of what they did to mom and the others over and over. We had to relive the nightmare over again and it seemed that no matter what we did to try to get on with our lives without her, we couldn't..She was still missing..Her body was out there somewhere. We could not except that. We were not at peace with that. For many years I often wondered if my mothers soul was at rest. Later I had to bring myself to believe that it did not matter where a person was placed in death, If they were going to spend their eternity with the higher power then their souls are at peace.
January 17th 2009 almost seven years later one of my mothers murderers decided to come forward and explain where they left my mother all these years with a map and pictures..A search was conducted and skeletal remains were found in that area he said she was..The memory gate lifted and my soul was flooded with all memories of my mother, good and bad and of the events that lead to her death..I relized on that day in January of 2009 standing on that dirt road as CSI came out of the field with brown bags which hopefully hold my mother, that I had been running and hiding from the truth..Not wanting to face the memories of my mother. The pain of losing her was so great and so painful that I thought it would be easier to forget her..And all I did was prolong the innevitable.

Now as I sit and wait for DNA to confirm that it is my mother's remains, my mind is flooded with thoughts of my mother. A woman with integrity, a woman with passion for life, a woman who saw the beauty in all things, a woman who loved like no other, a woman who I am honored to say is my mother.

Samantha Nicole Burns

On April 23rd most of us got out of bed and continued on with our daily routine in life..To most of us this day holds no real significance...To us it is just another day..But to the Burns family this is suppose to be a day of celebration of life to a young lady Samantha Burns who should have been turning 26 on this day..Two young men took this day of happiness away from from Samantha and her family forever and changed the lives of many people.

On November 11th 2002 Samantha was last seen by her aunt at 6:30pm at the Huntington Mall in WV. Samantha was carjacked by two escapees, Chadrick Fulks and Brandon Basham. She was raped and then murdered by these two evil spawns and discarded like she was a piece of trash. Basham and Fulks burned her car and headed south on a multi-state crime spree..On November 12th Samantha's car was found in Wayne county burned..Many searches for samantha have been done and turned up empty..Still no Samantha even now after almost seven years.

Recent searches were done for Samantha back in March of this year 2009 by Monica Caison and her organization CUE but those searches to turned up fruitless.

A beautiful young lady of 19, a student at Marshall University, her whole life ahead of her tragically taken all because two evil men somehow managed to escape a detention center with sheets and blankets through an unfinished fence.

These two men, Fulks and Basham, were sentenced to life in prision for carjacking and the death of Samantha. But they remain on deathrow for the carjacking and death of another woman named Alice Donovan from Horry County, South Carolina.

As I am sure that John and Kandi Burns have accepted the loss of their daughter Samantha. But to not be able to go to her grave site on her birthday and lay flowers in remembrance of their daughter's birthday and know that she is layed to rest properly is probably something that they struggle with every year. I know I do.

Samantha Burns is sadly missed by many people that did not know her. And she has touched the lives of many strangers..

Happy Birthday Samantha and one day I hope that you are found and layed to rest the way you so rightfully deserve to be..

No Where to Turn for Family of Missing Son

Travis Baker’s case joins the rising number of missing person cold cases

Wilmington, N.C. – the family of Travis Baker once again dread the upcoming date of April 16th,
As it remains a constant reminder of their son and him vanishing without a trace.
Travis Lee Baker was last seen in Catawba County in North Carolina on April 16, 2007; neither Travis nor his candy apple red 1998 camero, NC tag number WRP8627 has been recovered. Mr. Baker has three tattoos, his last name in capital letters across his back, the name “Hallie” on his chest and red & black tribal band on his upper left and right arm. Travis has a 2 inch scar on his left upper thigh from a sport injury.

Since his disappearance many rumors and speculation have invaded the small town community of Catawba County, one being Travis was involved in a drug deal gone bad which may have lead to his becoming a missing person; although the proof of this fact is nothing more than hearsay. “I do not think what a person was or was not doing should give anyone the right to hurt or murder a person”, said Dwayne Baker, the father of Travis. “All children will makes mistakes and are guilty of making bad decisions in life, Travis was nineteen years old and was still growing up”, he would have never fallen far from his roots and values instilled by his loved ones”, Mr. Baker added.

“Families of the missing are the victims of various crimes and should be treated as such; they have the right to be informed of their case progress and be treated with empathy”, said Monica Caison, CUE’s founder. Recently information surfaced of human remains that were found in Charlotte, N.C. last December; the family of Travis Baker has made inquiries to officials and the media to only be told when they find out, the family will be notified. After waiting four long months Dwayne Baker inquired himself and found out that his son was excluded in the first week of the discovery. “It’s frustrating that we, the families of the missing have to work on our own to get answers, we are the ones out here that cannot sleep and worry every minute of the day”, Mr. Baker said.

The family and friends of the missing youth have conducted public events in hope that a tip would be called in and have conducted searches in an effort to aid local authorities; in addition to keep focused they have attending conferences for the missing to be empowered in their journey and have took a leap further in obtaining training and attending searches for other missing persons, even traveling out of state.

Just this past January Dwayne Baker answered the call for a search conducted by the CUE Center for Missing Persons in collaboration with many levels of law officials in South Carolina for Alice Donovan, a woman who was car jacked and murdered in 2006 by two Kentucky escaped prisoners. Mr. Baker was involved in the search effort that discovered her remains. “To keep my sanity, I try to give back, it’s the right thing to do”, said Dwayne Baker. We all have the right as American citizens, my son and I both have rights and I will continue to exercise them and for the victims who have no voice.

Just this week, another set back for the Baker family as they learned that no entry was made for their son Travis into CODIS, a Texas lab that handles the nations DNA process for missing persons. Over a year ago the inquiry was made on this matter to officials and he was informed Travis was entered, but he is not, “I will move forward to make sure my son has every advantage for what is available to identify him and or locate him”, Mr. Baker said. Today’s technology such as CODIS is free to law officials across the country and set in place for the victims and should be utilized, said CUE’s founder, Monica Caison.

On April 16 the family and friends of Travis Baker marked two years since he vanished. We join them in remembering and offer our support and prayers that Travis will be found soon and put an end to their daily trials.

Branson Perry, Monday4 the Missing

So much has happened since Branson Perry vanished on April 11, 2001. His younger brother graduated and is now living on his own, his father passed away in 2004, and now his mother, Becky, has been diagnosed with cancer and yet still no word from Branson and no answers to where he might be.

Family Of Missing Man Looking For Answers

Branson Perry went missing on April 11, 2001, and his family has been looking for answers ever since.
Branson's family says that day, he and a friend were cleaning the family's home in preparation for his father's return from the hospital. In the middle of tidying up the house, Branson told his friend he was going to put a pair of jumper cables in the family's shed and that he'd be right back.

That was the last time anyone saw him.

Initially, in the days that followed Branson's disappearance, his family says the jumper cables were missing from the shed. But according to family members, the cables mysteriously re-appeared several days later.
In February 2009, police hoped to break the case using playing cards. Prison inmates were given decks of cards featuring the faces of fugitives, missing persons and unsolved homicides in hopes that it jogs the memory of an inmate that could lead to information to recover the missing person.

Branson's face is featured on the six of clubs. These decks of cards have been distributed to prisons throughout Missouri.

Police are actively looking for leads in the case.

Branson's family just wants answers and hopes that someone out there can give them the help they're looking for.

Becky Klino, Branson’s mother. “I feel him close”, she added.

Jason Scott Adkins and Dr. Jarrett Burton, Monday4 the Missing

Due to the fact that we had so many occurances in April, we decided to combine two missing persons to honor this Monday. Jason Scott Adkins would have celebrated his birthday on April 1 and Dr. Jarrett Burton has been missing since April 4, 2007. We would like to pay tribute to both of these men in hopes that someone, somewhere will see their pictures and information and come forth to their families.

Jason Scott Adkins was fishing on the Ohio River with his brother on Jan. 17, 1999 when the boat he was in had engine failure. Around this same time frame, a barge passing by caused a series of large waves in the river where the men were fishing, and caused the boat to capsize. Only one of the brothers inside the boat with Jason Scott Adkins made it out of the boat and went to call for help.

As search and rescue crews arrived, they reported it appeared as if someone had exited the water in a certain area that was different from where the sole survivor would've left the wreckage. Police asked the family was it a possibility that Jason Scott Adkins could've faked his death because he owed back child support. Both his estranged wife and family do not believe Jason Scott Adkins faked his death that fateful day because he only was $200 behind on child support. There has also never been any trace of Jason Scott Adkins' body if he did indeed perish in the boating accident.

His family is turning to the public for answers in helping solve this mystery surrounding Jason's disappearance.

As you all know, My family has been begging the Red River Sheriff's Department for justice for nearly 26 years. March 30, 2009, will mark the 26th years I have been without my mother. I grew up in the shadow of a phantom mother and with the vivid imagination only a child can have. It took my child like mind six years to actual conjure up the thought, she might be dead. With this in mind, I still do not know where she is, or where her remains lay. I desperately want to bring Justice to Louisiana since finding my mother has never been a priority. If it were just her case, I would think it were an anomaly. But, it is apparently the standard by which most cases are handled in the state. Below is what I am using as a cover letter to send to every Federal and Louisiana Authority I can think of. Please join me in being a voice for the countless victims in the State of Louisiana. I have also attached a list of victims from Louisiana, This in no way encompasses every unsolved case in the state, however, it is a sobering look at the daily reality a victims family lives through daily.

I am appealing to you to help those in your state that can no longer help themselves. I am referring to the staggering number of unsolved missing and murdered cases in the state of Louisiana. My mother, FAYE ALINE SELF, disappeared from Red River Parish March 30, 1983. As the letter that follows explains, we tried desperately to bring closure to her case, but have been met with resistance from the local Red River Sheriffs department to the Louisiana Attorney General's office. In the years I have spent researching my mom's case, I have come across countless cases that could very well be my own. Judy Gary, vanished in 1988, and her family was also denied the opportunity to file a missing persons report. This in itself is not a crime, though it certainly should be. I have been told many times that there is no one has jurisdiction over police. And, I must first prove that the local police committed a crime. The loss of evidence and other things listed in my letter are not illegal as of yet. It has been told to me, that it is a shame, but incompetence is not illegal and in the smaller parishes this sometimes happens! It was further explained to me that when the smaller parishes can not afford to hold a murder trial, it is easier to call a case a 'suicide' or 'self defense' to save Parish funding.

I kindly remind you that Jesus, Our Savior was moved to compassion for the masses. I am only asking that you and those of us with murdered and missing loved ones stand together to combat the air of corruption that has surrounded the state of Louisiana for so long.

I humbly ask that you look at the list of unsolved cases I have included here and pray for guidance in the laws and procedures that need to be changed for the betterment of the citizens of Louisiana. This list in no way encompasses all of the unsolved missing and murdered, but it is a sobering look at the reality that so many of us face daily.

Rachel Conger, Monday4 the Missing

March 13, 2008 was the first day of Spring Break for Amber Simmons, but when she awoke that morning things were different. Her mother, Rachel Conger, wasn't home and as Amber went about her day, her mother never returned. Family members gathered and went to the police that evening and reported her missing.

Rachel was estranged from her husband, Paul Conger, and by March 16 he would be found dead of a self inflicted gunshot wound. Sources say that the marriage between Rachel and Paul was stormy and they had planned on a divorce. According to investigators they think Rachel is the victim of a murder suicide at the hands of her husband, Paul.

According to family members Rachel married young, but always had a great sense of responsibility. She was young when she became a mother, but took the role quite seriously and raised her daughter, Amber to have that same sense. Rachel's first marriage broke up, but she was on great terms with her ex husband's family and they all mended their fences years ago. Rachel stayed close to the family, as did Amber.

Even though this year did not bring the answers Amber is looking for, it's not because she hasn't been in the forefront leading the way for searches to be conducted in several areas of interest. Amber coordinated car washes, bake sales, and concerts, any way she could she raised money to fund searches.

Last month, CUE Center for Missing Persons united with local law enforcement and search and recovery K9 teams from all over the country to conduct a massive search, trying to bring Rachel home before the one year anniversary of her vanishing. Although weather hampered their efforts, they will be back again to continue searching.

Amber Simmons has had a lot of love and support for her efforts this year, not only from her loving family, but from total strangers who were won over by her maturity and strength to carry on looking for her mother.

“My mom was the most amazing woman ever and the best friend I have ever had and that is what keeps me going everyday. I know that one day eventually she will be found because I will never give up looking for my mother, my best friend. I could tell her everything and she wouldn't judge me- only help me and be understanding.”

The thing I remember most about being nineteen, was how spontaneous and carefree the world seemed to be, back then. I had an entire life before me, and I was unstoppable!

Suzanne was nineteen when she disappeared...
she had her entire life before her, too!

Suzanne Lyall was last seen on the evening of March 2, 1998, at approximately 9:20 p.m., as she departed her place of employment at the Crossgates Mall in Guilderland, New York. Lyall was known to have boarded a Capital District Transit Authority bus heading to Collins Circle at the State University of New York (SUNY), at Albany, New York, where she was a student. It is believed that she exited the bus at Collins Circle at approximately 9:45 p.m. and has not been seen since that time.

Man sought as a possible witness
At about 4 p.m. on March 3, 1998, Lyall's ATM card was used at the Stewart's Store located on the corner of Manning Boulevard and Central Avenue, Albany, NY.

At about this same time the individual appearing in the composite picture, left, made a purchase at the counter inside the store.

He is a black male, with a medium/muscular build approximately 30 years old, 6-foot tall,wearing a mid-length "Carhart" type jacket and a dark baseball cap with the "Nike" swoosh symbol on the front.

It is believed that Lyall was wearing the jewelry shown when she disappeared. A polished, 14K, fluted bow ring; a silver ring in the shape of a frog and a necklace with a silver medallion inscribed with a runic character that looks like a block-style letter S. She may also have been wearing a 14K gold flower design cocktail ring.

I was a student at the University at Albany when Suzanne Lyall went missing in
March of 1998.
Living in a downtown dormitory, I still recall the night when the fliers
stating she was missing went up on the walls in the hallways.
Looking at them, my friends and I shrugged the whole situation off as just
being another kid leaving town for the weekend and not letting their parents
know their plans.

Ten years later, we still don’t know what happened to Suzanne. Her parents,
Douglas and Mary, are struggling with not knowing and they may be for
the rest of their lives.

Jasmine Haslag, Monday4 the Missing

Jasmine Haslag of Cole County, Missouri, has been missing since June 18, 2007. Her family knew that something was very wrong when she did not arrive to pick up her children from their father’s house as she had promised them that Monday.

Her mother, Peggy Florence, called the Cole County Sheriff’s office to report her daughter missing on June 21st. What Peggy would hear next was devastating.

Her daughter’s car, described as a green 1996 Toyota, had been found in a field between Dixie and Mokane, off of Route PP in Callaway County, on the other side of Missouri River, the previous day. There was frontal body damage to the vehicle and the license plates were torn off.

“When we ran the VIN on the car it checked back to Haslag, but there was no connection with a missing person at that time,” said Callaway County Sheriff Dennis Crane Wednesday. “Since there were no warrants for her, we had the car towed because it was found on private property.”

After learning of the girl’s disappearance, Sheriff Crane and his deputies processed the car for any potential evidence and completed a five hour search of the immediate area in which the car was found.

The Cole County Sheriff’s office has been very cooperative and forth-coming with all case details. They have worked with various Cole County officials in following up on leads in the Holts Summit area.

Her mother admits that it is possible that Jasmine was suffering from depression at the time of her disappearance but reassures that she would have never left her children.

Jasmine failed to appear for court on July 18, for a couple of drug-related charges which occurred in May. She was out on a 50 thousand dollar bond.

As of July 18, officials are saying that foul play is definitely suspected in the disappearance of Jasmine Haslag. A reward of increasing amounts has been offered for any information leading to an arrest in the Haslag case.

Authorities have followed up on several leads and interviewed many people

KRCG's Mallory McGowin spoke to Jasmine's mother, who is searching for answers about her daughter.

"I'm not going to give up looking for Jasmine because those three little kids want to know where their mother is. And I need to know where their mother is," says Peggy Florence, Jasmine's mother.

Christopher Robin Coan, Monday4 the Missing

Had Christopher Coan been 18 in 1967 instead of 2007 he may have experienced some of the things he read about in books by Ken Kesey such as "One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest" and "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test". He may have been one of the Merry Pranksters or maybe just another one of us with dreams of heading to San Francisco and hanging out at Haight Ashbury mingling with the flower children during the "Summer of Love".

It's reported that Chris was fascinated with life in the 60's, the unrest in America at that time, and the Viet Nam War. Maybe he toked a few doobies along the way, but from what I've read he seemed to be a typical teen in 2007 in Cedar City, Utah, a skateboarder, not a rebellious hippie of the 60's prone to taking off and not telling anyone.

On September 3, 2007, Chris left his job at Subway never to be heard from since. Accounts say that he had a difficult shift dealing with a rude customer, then being reprimanded by his boss for something minor, but nothing happened during that shift that was a big enough deal to just walk away from his life.

Chris belongs to a loving family who attended church together and had a girlfriend, Sasha, who lived with him in a small, separate space at her parent's home. Chris owned a 1994 burgundy and silver Chevy S10 Blazer which he had recently purchased, and which no one saw him getting into after work. His vehicle is also missing, no trace left behind, as well as his wallet, drivers license and ATM card. There has been no activity on his bank account.

Searches have been conducted yielding nothing and reported sightings have been inconclusive. Authorities believe he is missing under "suspicious circumstances", but because of his being 18, could have left voluntarily although nothing in his demeanor would indicate that he just wanted to walk away from his life, his girlfriend, and his family.

An appeal from father, Dave Coan:

I appeal to everyone out there to help us find our son. We love Chris and miss him very much. His brothers and mother are very much affected by his disappearance as well. Not a minute goes by that we don't think about him. We are stuck in a kind of limbo. We cannot move forward with our lives not knowing where he is or if he is alright. The stress, most days, is almost unbearable.

My personal message to Chris: If you are out there, son, we love you and miss you very badly and please call and let us know you are ok.

As I begin to write the events of Tina and Bethany's disappearance my eyes are filled with tears and my heart bleeds with pain for Tina and Bethany and their family...I know first hand what this family has and is going through and know the nightmare that this family has been forced to live and without a choice.

In the year of 2001 34 year old single mother Tina Sinclair shared a residence on Mountain road in Chesterfield New Hampshire a quiet community, with her daughter 15 year old Bethany Sinclair, her boyfriend Eugene Van Bowman Jr and another young male.

The relationship Tina and Eugene had was a stormy relationship and Eugene often abused Tina..On one occasion Bowman tried to light Tina on fire..He poured kerosene all over Tina but she managed to get away from him..But it would not end there..Many people believe that Tina and Bethany met their fate at the hands of the man Eugene Van Bowman Jr...However finding proof and fact has been an obstacle for law enforcement..Or is it just plain ignorance on law enforcements part?

Febuary 3 2001 at around 9:30pm Tina and Bowman got into a heated argument at the Marina..Tina left the parking lot in her vehicle a white Neon peeling out and angry.
Tina picked up her daughter Bethany up from the Movie theater and returned home to her residence around 11:30pm on Mountain road, where she then got into another argument with Bowman..According to Bowman he left the home and when he returned Tina and Bethany were gone..Here is where the story gets confusing and unclear. Tina's car was still parked at the home, along with all of their personal things and their pet cat. If someone was going to leave wouldn't they take some of their personal items and their vehicle?
Also an unidentified woman phoned Bethany's school to say that Bethany would not be at school Monday..Who was this mystery lady?

This is what the family of Tina and Bethany do know...
They know that Bethany was on the phone with her boyfriend until almost midnight and had to hang up so she could finish her laundry in the cellar.
The Stepfather also says that Tina was angry with Bowman earlier, when she stopped over to ask her Stepfather to borrow $50 and made plans to cut his hair on Sunday. The stepfather was turned away when he showed up for his haircut by Bowman. He was cleaning the house.
at 4:30 am on Feb 4, 2001 Bowman was cursed at by his neighbors for being out on the river in his hover craft. It had a loud engine and a very bright light.
Bowman had a mistress who was married to one of his friends and co-worker..The four of them would go out on couple dates together.
Two Yankee Nuclear Power Plant barrels were allegedly taken from the plant. Allegedly driven home by Bowman and his truck.Had the markings VT Nuke Power Plant on them.Were black and oval, not like your normal oil barrels. One was on the property (said to be used for ice for parties), the other one was missing.
After Tina and Bethany went missing, Eugene Van Bowman, Jr. was sent to prison for an unrelated sexual assault conviction (child sex offense victim under 13 years old).He was released in April, 2005 to the same home they all lived in.
Eugene Van Bowman, Jr. has been released from jail this fall 2007 on an unrelated offense, and is residing at his home in West Chesterfield, NH.Since then Bowman has sold his residence and has moved.

There is so much more to the mystery of Tina and Bethany's disappearance that remains to be seen..And we can only begin to imagine the horror that Tina and Bethany suffered at the hands of Bowman or from who ever that is responsible for their disappearance.

Most people just don't vanish off the face of the earth for no reason. And if someone does leave on their free will, surely they don't go eight years without contacting a family member. Especially when they have close ties to their loved ones..

How can anyone not have or feel compassion for Tina and Bethany. And for their family? Why and how can anyone live with themselves knowing that they know what happened to these girls? Surely someone has the answer to where Tina and Bethany are and they need to come forward and give this family some sort of peace..All they have of Tina and Bethany is memorial site..A place for them all to go to find some closeness to Tina and Bethany..The family deserves more than that..Tina and Bethany deserve more than that..These girls deserve to be brought back home to their loved ones..

What this family lives day to day I can ASSURE you ALL that it is torture!! PURE TORTURE!! How would you FEEL if someone MURDERED and then DISPOSED of your LOVED one like they were a PIECE of TRASH!!??
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL HUH! You would feel Like your heart has just been ripped right out of your chest. Your life as you once new it is no longer the same..You are forced to become someone else, a person you no longer know or understand..And your whole purpose in life is to find your missing loved one. And to find that existence of peace that you once new, cherished and loved..

Since my sister and my niece have been gone, so has a part of me. I havent ever been the same. My heart is broken and so is my spirit. My mother has gradually crumbled as time has passed without her precious daughter and grand daughter. The anger, hatred, confusion, nightmares have shredded through me and made me into a person I dont even recognize anymore! Our family was divided at first for a long time, as nothiing was the same. The holidays, birthdays, family gatherings were like a bad dream because Tina and Bethany werent there.
A memorial will replace the one that was stolen last fall in time for the anniversary of Tina and Bethany's missing. Please visit if you can, at the CT River's bend, on Mountain Road, off RT 9 in West Chesterfield, NH. Please light a candle, say a prayer. I will never give up! No one should!

Trevor Morse, Monday4 the Missing

Las Vegas, land of glitter, glitz, gambling and gluttony! The excitement runs 24 hours a day, and on the Strip you never know what time it is with lights blaring brightly and the sound of slot machines giving a big payoff. That is what most of us picture when we hear "Las Vegas"! Not all of Las Vegas is littered with gamblers and it has become a wonderful, suburban, affluent place for families to raise their children in one of the largest and best school systems in the nation.

2006 was the year that Trevor Morse moved to Las Vegas from his home town of El Paso, Texas to work for a major contractor as an electrician during a year where housing and building was a booming business across the country, especially in Las Vegas. It's reported that Trevor did well for himself there and lived in an upscale area of west Las Vegas. He was not unhappy, depressed or suicidal.

What happened to Trevor Morse on May 5, 2007 after he called a taxi, leaving his car, keys, wallet, cash and credit cards in his home?

Trevor's family has outlined Trevor's daily life in the months before his disappearance and it shows that he purchased furniture, registered for classes, bought books, even bought pet turtles and a new car. It shows the day before Trevor vanished he did laundry and paid his bills. This doesn't sound like someone planning to walk away from a life he seemed happy with, nor someone planning a suicide.

Trevor's family made the long trip from El Paso to join searches, expecting to find at least a corpse, and warned to expect the worst. Video of Trevor exiting the taxi was made available, showing him walking away, looking back once more and continuing along his way, the opposite of what the family was told by detectives. According to them, Trevor was shown on video wandering aimlessly around the desert. Just one of many inconsistancies the family would hear from authorities.

Unfortunately the family was unable to forge a working relationship with detectives assigned to the case and have not been kept informed of new developments. As often happens with missing adults, the cases are given a very low priority and tend to sit idle while families are daily sitting on the edge waiting for a clue.

Trevor's father, Rick Morse states:

Since our return to El Paso any communication with defective Marin LVMPD has been spotty at best with him rarely returning our calls (nearly weekly) and not returning any e-mail. I was informed by defective Marin of a RUMOR that started three months after Trevor went missing that he was in a rehab in California. After the defective imparted this there has been no further contact with him, even though I’ve tried to contact him several times a week!

The strength of family will get them through, but there will remain a gaping void in their lives until there is news of what has happened to Trevor Morse.

Bradley Olsen, Monday4 the Missing

What were you doing when you were 26? Some readers may be in that age bracket, but I've been living twice that long, yet I can remember the days of being 26, drinking with my friends and closing the bar. What if it was January 19, cold and frigid, 8 degrees, your friends left earlier, and you were pretty well intoxicated? Wouldn't you call your friends, ask them to come for you, maybe call a cab? They say the first thing to go when you're drinking is your judgement, and being numb to the cold, maybe you would catch a ride with a stranger.

All speculating aside, this is precisely what happened on a cold January 19 night in DeKalb, Illinois. Bradley Olsen vanished into the night, intoxicated, last seen in the parking lot looking for a ride home. No one knows if he got that ride or where he ended up that night. It's safe to say he didn't walk away from his family, his daughter, and his life.

According to reports, Brad's family was on vacation, returned home on January 24, and when they had no contact with him, filed a missing persons report and started searches of the area around Bar One, the last place Brad was seen. The family had never been out of touch with Brad for more than a couple days, so it was totally out of character, and they feel he has been harmed.

Something has definitely happened to him because he lived here with us,” his mother, Sue Olsen said. “There was never a 48-hour period where we didn't know where Brad was. Even whenever we would go out of town, he'd always call.”

Sue Olsen, Brad's mother, describes him as always smiling, living life to the fullest. Brad's little girl sees his billboard and waves, telling her daddy "hi".

Over the last two years, extensive searches have been made, over land, under water, air searches and scent dogs. Nothing has turned up as a clue to what happened to Brad. Hope is very powerful, but when it fades, families seek closure, they need to come out of limbo.

"I would have never thought that when this all started we would be talking about a two-year anniversary," Maple Park resident Sue Olsen said Tuesday, her voice quivering.

They will never give up the search for Brad, never stop looking for the answers to pass along to his daughter, never will they give up hope that he is found. There is a close knit family that is waiting, 2 years and 6 days as of this writing, and they need to know that Brad Olsen is resting in peace.

The man with the infectious smile, the love of life, his family, and his daughter is out there somewhere. If you hold the key to finding him, please come forward and give this family the answers they need.

My life was shattered 24 years ago. My mom,Mary Badaracco, vanished from her home. Yes I did say 24 YEARS! The last person that saw my mom alive, her husband of 14 years, STILL HAS NO COMMENT! This man, our ex stepfather, TOLD US TO "TELL NO-ONE and DO NOT GO TO THE COPS". He told us his lawyer would handle it, however...the only thing his lawyer did was slither into court and enter a motion for divorce on the grounds of desertion, only 9 days after mom supposedly disappeared, without reporting her missing. Meanwhile, he already had his mistress moved into my mom's house.

About 10 days had already passed by the time I was finally told that my mom had supposedly "taken off" on August 20, 1984. I knew right away something was terribly wrong, I knew our mom would have never "taken off", not after all we'd been through together! I was also told her car remained at her home, a smashed windshield was evident, I suppose only to me, that foul play should be suspected as it was in the driveway, damaged.

So I, (as usual) defied his orders and convinced my sister, who was still in a state of shock from being told the previous week by this ex family that our mom was missing, my only sister,who was told to especially not tell me that our mom was gone. Why would she comply? I feel she was scared to death that our worst nightmare
had come true! The day had come that they went too far and really hurt our mom! Once I knew I told my sister that we must run, not walk, to the police!

Throughout our moms 14year marriage to this man, she also raised all 4 of his kids. We were subjected to much domestic abuse from these sickos. By the time mom realized this, she didn't have a clue how to get away from him! Several times after he'd beat our mom severely we'd flee the home and stay with friends only for him to eventually find us and bring us back to that house, usually by threats and force, or as in one instance, having our Grandma by knife point, while my sis and I could only run and hide under the bed and cry.

Back in the 60's and 70's she never reported this to police. Why would she? He is friends with the cops, he still is friends with people in high places, that's why this case is not solved!

One crucial error the state police made is regarding our moms damaged car. The CSP investigator 1st on scene was "D B's" buddy. They believed him when he told them "the bitch took off and stole my money, too". He told one cop that mom broke the windshield of her car that was left at her house, but he was overheard telling another trooper that he did it! Although I kept asking about the car for over 20 years, I was like a frikken broken record. I insisted the police find this car, I knew it was a key piece of evidence! The police told me to find the VIN number and they would run a search, even though I later found out they, of course, had mom's license plate number the entire time. " D B" got rid of her car and was never even questioned about the whereabouts of this car!

We have had our 1st arrest in all these years. A new state trooper has uncovered much information that has been concealed from us. (a relative of "D B" ) It's only a misdemeanor charge. I thought it was a start. This man is accused of interfering with a homicide investigation.

We believe he buried moms car according to what police learned while interviewing this suspect. A huge excavation took place, 3 cars were recovered, unearthed from this mans backyard, but mom's car was not found. The suspect was scheduled to be in court Dec 5th to possibly accept a guilty plea and a $250 fine and
wow- that's it! Why are we sending the message that it's ok to lie to state police investigators, you will basically just walk away!

As mom's belongings were completely removed, not even a link ball remained of her. In her house, the day she "WENT MISSING" in1984, her belongings, as well as her remains, could be in that car! A few weeks back when the prosecutor told me they were just going to plea him out with that fine, I let him know how unhappy I was. I told him "D B" carries that in his left pocket daily, who is that going to hurt?

I then decided I'd go to the court to see this for myself. However, his lawyer felt the need to pull something shady. On the morning of court last month, supposedly the day of this final continuance, after I drove almost an hour, his lawyer called in (after 9:30 am) and said they needed a new date as she has another murder case somewhere else and can not be there to represent him. I was so furious because this attorney had almost 2 months to get her calendar straight! I immediately asked to speak with the judge and my wish was granted, in her open court with the accused to my right!

I suppose I watch too much TV because I thought my request would be a discussion, privately, in chambers! This was one of the hardest things I'd ever done, trying to be mom's voice in a court of law for the very first time in 24 years, I pleaded with the court to impose the maximum sentence!

I keep hoping and praying that one day, someone with ovaries/testicles will truly hear my story, realizing something must be done, stand up beside me and help me fight this evil.

Believe me, if I had ANY money, I would certainly have been paying for justice for my mom. I can only use every fiber of my being to right this wrong. I've tried to make this broken justice system work for my mother, my family! Something is seriously wrong when killers are allowed to get away with murder.

In my case, not only do we know in our hearts who killed our mom, but they hid our moms remains somewhere. What kind of a monster does that! He also made my mother quit claim her home to him for $1 about 6 weeks prior to her disappearance, and he still resides in mom's house with his mistress, now wife. He took the home out of OUR moms name and gave it to his 3rd wife.

I only want this case solved! The tragedy that happened to my family so long ago threw my sister and I into a state of shock we still feel to this day!

We have been left shattered, still trying to put the pieces of ourselves back together. We thought this was supposed to be moms time for working so hard raising 6 kids and putting up with all the abuse all those years! 6 kids were grown and out of the house, this was supposed to be her time to enjoy life! But mom found out about the affair, and we believe she finally wanted out,like this was the last straw.

This family took everything from us, our childhoods, our mother and even now he takes from my life!

He (and those that keep his secret) also killed a part of me that day too. I have never been the same since my world was shattered in August 1984! My mother was the most beautiful spirit, she was always there helping anyone that needed anything! To further my pain and suffering,authorities made so many mistakes. I've pushed and screamed to be my mothers voice all these 24 years and now I'm being told that even this old state police trooper buddy has lawyered up!

We know that there are people within the community, as well as several persons of interest that do have the missing puzzle piece that we need to solve this case.

I struggle every day to get out of bed to fight for what's right ! Until I know exactly what happened to my mom and I know we've done everything possible to locate her remains, I will be tortured by this ongoing tragic event that occurred in 1984. I can only best describe this daymare as...my mom cries out to my spirit for help!

I have been a wife and mom of 4 for 27 years. I am busy, but the disappearance and
unsolved homicide of my mother, well, it is just there with me every single day, I feel the loss of her beautiful presence.

I ask why have I been tortured by this for so long? Because my state has allowed this crime to go unsolved all these years. I continue to fight for my mom and those that I didn't even know, others that are missing. On behalf of my children, my goal is to show my kids, my nephew and my family that justice really does exist,decent people really do care!

William (Billy) Smolinski, Monday4 the Missing

In two days, January 14, William "Billy" Smolinski will be 36 years old.

On August 24, 2004 Billy vanished.

The most comprehensive series of articles about the disappearance of Billy Smolinski is written by Holliston of ZeroGossipand I urge everyone to read all of the entries to get the details of the story from the beginning to the present.

This is a missing person's case that has been convoluted from the very beginning when Waterbury, CT police made the family wait three days before they would take a missing persons report. That was only the start of an uncooperative relationship ultimately leading to the arrest of Billy's mother, Jan, lost DNA samples, and Jan's relentless pursuit of the States Attorney and Governor of CT and contacting the FBI herself to get action.

I just want to let you know if you ask anyone who knew me my life prior to Billy's disappearance, I was quiet, minded my own business and would not challenge. I was forced to either sink or swim and of course I chose the latter.

Had Jan Smolinski not been the consummate mother, never, ever giving it a second thought to do everything in her power to search for her son, this case may have never even been opened. She has tirelessly, day after day, worked this case with tenacity in an effort to get answers about her son. Media outlets, bloggers, and writers have tried to get this story told, but officials and Waterbury in general, for some reason, don't want that.

The media, with the exception of Billy's hometown newspaper, The Waterbury-Republican, has been excellent, Jan said. "I don't know why, but they (the newspaper) washed their hands of Billy. We went to see the state's attorney in Waterbury and asked him for help and his answer to us was 'you care about your son, but no one else does.' I never thought people in authority would ignore situations like this."

Not only has Jan worked daily for Billy, but has given so much of herself to helping others in the same situation with nowhere to get answers. She has not only been instrumental in setting up vigils, making contact with organizations, making a quilt for the missing and speaking engagements, but she has reached out to our congressional leaders to change legislation nationally to benefit how missing persons cases are handled in the future.

This entry has not turned into a spotlight for Billy Smolinski's mother, Jan, but a spotlight on what a family of a missing person often endures.We all want to change that.

Every family of a missing son or daughter, mother or father, sister or brother wants to know that the tragedy they are experiencing is not in vain.

Billy Smolinski will be 36 years old, he is a much loved son, brother and friend. The day he is found and brought home to his family will be the day they will rest their hearts, rest their minds and soothe their souls.

Roxanne Paltauf, Monday4 the Missing

An 18 year old, Roxanne was staying at a Budget motel with her boyfriend on July 7, 2006, they had an argument, she walked out and has never been seen again. According to Louis Walls, who was 30 at the time, he went back to the motel room to cool off, and later went out to look for her to no avail. The motel was in a rather run down area of Austin, Texas frequented by prostitutes and drug dealers, not an area for a young lady to feel safe. Roxanne is said to have left that motel room with nothing, no cell phone, no purse, no money, only in a pair of shorts, tank top and flip flops.

The area is one where protests were held to take back the neighborhood and make it safe. At the rally was Roxanne's mother, Liz Harris, doing everything to get her daughter's information out to the people in the area. A billboard company donated their services so that Roxanne's picture is out in the public at all times in hopes of someone coming forward with information.

What the public doesn't realize is the lengths a family has to go to gain exposure for a missing loved one. At 18, Roxanne is an adult and there is no law against just walking away from your family, but many times that's not the case and authorities don't always listen to the pleas of the family who know differently. The area from where she disappeard was searched extensively a few days after she was reported missing, but no evidence of Roxanne was found.

Roxanne has three sisters and a brother who she was close to and they miss her greatly. It's highly unusual that she would be gone for so long without contact with her family. The family has so many questions that have gone unanswered since July 7, 2006 and pray that someone will come forward with information.

January 3 was Roxanne's birthday. The family will celebrate yet another birthday without the guest of honor present. But Roxanne is always present in the hopes and dreams of her family until the day she returns to them.

Take a look at Mystic (pronounced Mystique) Dawn Salazar. She may very well be in your neighborhood but all is not well with this poor little girl. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children list her as missing by way of "family abduction." Her biological father, Enrique Arreolo-Lopez and his wife Melissa snatched her from a stable family environment to a life on the run. It all went down in Mesa County, Colorado on August 17. That's the last day Jennifer Davis, the woman Mystic knows as "mom" saw the 6-year-old. Complicated and convoluted doesn't begin to explain the young girl's life. She was born May 23, 2002. Her mother Twalla is the ex-wife of Jennifer's husband Amie. According to Jennifer, Twalla made an arrangement with Enrique after getting out of prison to get pregnant with the hopes of getting Amie back into her life--a "no strings attached" bio dad. Twalla did get pregnant but her attempt at getting Amie back didn't work. At the same time, Jennifer was also pregnant. She arranged her pre-natal visits around Twalla's so she could drive her to and from the doctors. When Mystic was born, Twalla brought her directly to Jennifer. While Twalla didn't give up custody, she would frequently bring the baby over to be cared for by Jennifer and Amie, who assumed the dad role in her life. Two years later, Twalla's parole ended and, according to Jennifer, started to disappear for stretches of time. "She'd drop her off in the morning and say she'd be back after work to pick Mystic up and then we wouldn't see her for days or weeks. In April 2007, I got a call from Twalla saying she had been arrested and was in jail. Mystic had been living with us full time the past 4 months." At the time, Mystic was 4 and Twalla had already signed over power of attorney's to us giving us guardianship for 6 month periods of time. And then she'd disappear. But we never thought twice because to us, Mystic is family, she's our daughter." Twalla remained in jail for 6 months. "When she was released, we filed a petition for custody with the courts. Twalla had been arrested for aggrevated assault and we couldn't have Mystic living in that environment. At that point, we didn't know the bio dad's name. We knew nothing about him. Twalla said that her arrangement with him was to get her pregnant and that he'd never be a part of Mystic's life. She also said he had been deported to Mexico. When we filed the petition, we found out he hadn't been deported and was still working at the restaurant where he met Twalla. This man, of course, is Enrique Arreolo-Lopez and he was married and had a son. In fact, Twalla filed a child support petition against him and was collecting thousands while Mystic was in the care of Jennifer and Amie. Eventhough he was paying, Enrique never tried to see Mystic." In February 2008, Jennifer and Amie went before a judge for the first time to get custody. "The judge granted Twalla visitation which included 2 hours for lunch and 2 hours for dinner 'at her discretion'. Enrique was to have no contact with Mystic until he had parenting introduction therapy. After that, if he chose to see Mystic, it had to be during a supervised therapeutic session. A legal representative was appointed to the child by the judge." In April, Mystic met Enrique for the first time--an hour and a half session with a therapist. "For some reason, the therapist found it necessary to include Twalla in the session, but I was not allowed to be in the building," Jennifer said. There were three other sessions and then the counselor agreed to allow unsupervised visits. "On the very first unsupervised visit with Enrique, they brought Mystic home wrapped in a fleece coat wearing a t-shirt and nothing else. They said she peed her pants during the visit. As they (Enrique and his wife, Melissa) were taking her out of the car in front of our house, with neighbors standing around, Melissa yelled, 'Maybe next time we can have a change of clean clothes in case she pees herself again.' Mystic looked mortified." Enrique would take Mystic for about 9 hours on Sundays. "When she'd come home, she'd be withdrawn and would get aggressive with the other kids," Jennifer said. In all likelihood, Mystic Salazar is relatively safe. This is not a high profile missing children's case like Caylee Anthony in Florida. But relatively safe and safe are two different things. Mystic was abducted by her biological father--a man who had nothing to do with her for most of her life. And Jennifer Davis, the woman Mystic knows as mom is trying desperately to find her. While a judge says Mystic should be with Jennifer and her husband Amie in Mesa County, Colorado, law enforcement disagrees. Why? Because the bio dad, Enrique Arreolo-Lopez fled before he was served with the legal papers. And no one knows where he is. The courts did grant Enrique and his wife Melissa visitation rights and those visits affected 6-year-old Mystic. "She would have nightmares after visits," Jennifer said. "She'd come into our room and crawl into bed with us. And that was not typical of Mystic. Sometimes she'd come home after a visit and was starving." At just 3'3 and 35 pounds, Jennifer said Mystic typically "eats like a bird." "On two different occasions, she came back from 9 hour visits saying she didn't eat at all. She said it was because her other daddy said there wasn't enough money for food today." Following those visits, Mystic would come home and eat as much as she usually ate in a day in one sitting. She was that hungry. "We would tell the counselor this and telling him something wasn't right. Instead the counselor pushed for more visits. Another counselor pushed for Mystic to spend Labor Day Weekend with Enrique. Enrique had been providing the counselor with pictures of a smiling Mystic. We saw the pictures and pointed out they were from Chucky Cheese. What child isn't going to have a good time there? Another picture was at her birthday party where she was given a lot of gifts. We pointed out to the counselor that they were the Disneyland parents. They get to come in and do all the fun stuff for one day. But they don't deal with the day to day life." It would get worse. "Shortly before they took her, she came home from a visit with a red mark across her throat. This was during a visit they weren't supposed to have. They showed up unannounced at Mystic's baseball game and freaked her out. She started screaming and crying. She told Amie she didn't want to go, holding onto him. Enrique and Melissa were trying to force her to go. So we compromised. We asked Mystic if it would be ok if they all had lunch together. After lunch I walked Mystic over to Enrique's car and told her it would be ok and to go have fun with daddy. Later that afternoon, when they returned her to us, she had what looked like a ligature mark across her throat. I asked her what happened and she said, 'mommy, I don't know.' She said she forgot. You could tell she was real shy about it. I called Enrique when Mystic was out of earshot and Melissa answered the phone. She wouldn't let me talk to him. I asked her what happened and she said Mystic didn't have that mark when she was dropped off. We took pictures and gave them to the counselor and the attorneys involved with her case. Nothing happened." In early August, the attorney assigned to Mystic came to Jennifer and Amie's for a home visit. While he was there, Twalla showed up to pick up Mystic for lunch. The attorney told her that she could only take Mystic for lunch but not dinner because it was too much for her. "When Twalla brought Mystic back after lunch she said she would be back for dinner," Jennifer said. "When I reminded her what the attorney said, she cussed me out and said I screwed up and would never see Mystic again. The next day, Enrique had his visit with Mystic. Things were kind of weird because they showed up in a new vehicle--a minivan. When they dropped her off at our meeting place near a grocery store, they pulled around to a gas station and left their van near the pumps where we couldn't see it. They walked Mystic across the parking lot to me. The very next weekend, August 17, Mystic freaked out while I tried to get her ready to go for her weekly visit. She was screaming and crying and refused to get into the shower. She cried the whole way from our house to the store where we were meeting Enrique. The visit was supposed to be from 9:30 to 5:30. I showed up at 9:20 and we sat there waiting. I sat in the back of our van with Mystic holding her because she was crying. I was trying to reassure her that she would go and have fun. At 9:45, I decided to pull away figuring Enrique wasn't going to show. Then I had second thoughts because I thought that if I prevented the visit, we'd lose Mystic. So I stopped and waited for about another 10-15 minutes. Then Enrique came walking up with his son Manuel. There was no vehicle in sight. He said Melissa was at the counselor's signing papers. I had to literally pry Mystic's arms off of me because she was screaming that she didn't want to go. Enrique walked away with her and Mystic turned back to me a yelled, 'mommy, I love you can I have a hug?' Enrique let her give me a hug and I told her I loved her and that when she came home, we'd get ready for her first day of school the next day. They walked away and that was the last time I've seen her." That night, Jennifer returned to the meeting place to pick up Mystic. She waited from 5:25 until 7:55. "I waited. I didn't leave that spot. I called Enrique's phone and it went straight to voicemail. I called the attorney and the counselor emergency number. I finally got a call back from the counselor's business partner and she said the counselor had been out of town for the past couple of days. What we found out later was that Melissa had dropped off her two children with their dad because he had custody. He said when she dropped them off, the van they were driving was loaded down with their stuff. They told him they were moving to Texas and they'd be back every 6 weeks to see the kids. She said she was going to nursing school. We also found out that although she had been telling people she was a nurse and worked in a doctors' office, she was, in fact, a receptionist, not a nurse. We also found out she had been arrested 10 years ago for shoplifting and using her children to do it which is why she lost custody." The Mesa County Sheriff's Office doesn't think a crime was committed. "They said, because Enrique is her biological father, he has every right to have her. When we showed them the minute orders from court, the deputy asked me 'how do I know you didn't type that up on your own computer?' I couldn't believe it. There was a possible sighting of Mystic in town back in September. When I called the sheriff's office, they said there was no crime and they couldn't do anything. Mystic's court appointed attorney won't return our calls." Two days after Enrique vanished with Mystic, the court issued an order that authorizes law enforcement to turn Mystic over to Jennifer and Amie if she's found and granting legal custody to them. "Law enforcement here in town say it's not valid," Jennifer said. "Because Enrique hasn't been served with it." Enrique, as you recall, fled town and no one knows where he is. So, a technicality, and lack of common sense is keeping Mystic on the run. Jennifer, Amie and her family aren't sitting back. They are doing all they can trying to overcome the law enforcement obstacles and trying to find their little girl. Without the help of police makes it that much more difficult. Jesse Warren Ross "Opie"

Jesse Ross looks like the "All American" college kid, a good kid, who with red hair, freckles and an infectious smile earned him the nickname, "Opie". He excelled in his classes at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and was attending a mock United Nations conference in Chicago with 13 of his fellow students. A sponsor had just promised them a trip to Costa Rica, an exciting adventure for Jesse and his friends. Jesse Ross has a promising future ahead of him and proud parents and a family who shared so much.

On November 20, 2006, Jesse phone his mother to let her know the conference was going well and he was enjoying himself. He was the type of son that always kept in contact with his family, especially confiding in his mother, Donna.

The students were staying at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in the downtown are of Chicago close to the river. There was a dance and parties before a mock emergency meeting scheduled at 2am.

Sources say that around 2:30am Jesse got up to take a 30 minute break, walked out of a side door to a well lit walkway. Surveillance cameras recorded him leaving out that doorway. 12 hours later his roommate realized that Jesse had not returned to their room at the Four Points Sheraton but figured he must have been in someone else's room for the night,so he packed up Jesse's belongings for him thinking that the gesture would be appreciated.

Jesse was not in the hotel, Jesse was gone.

Don and Donna Ross and their son Andy are left with so many unanswered questions. Chicago police provided extensive searches of the area surrounding the hotel with no results. How can a young man simply vanish in the middle of a busy city?

Faith is the glue that holds this family together today. Hope and faith that one day Jesse will just walk in the front door.

"We pray for a sign, anything," Donna said. "We pray, 'If he is in heaven with you, that's not my first choice, but God, please give us a sign. Send me an e-mail, a phone call, something. We have to know that he's OK and with you.'

"When you lose someone you love when they pass on, you grieve and then you move on with your life," Donna said. "We are nowhere. We are still stuck in that revolving door. We know nothing more than we knew that first day."

So the search continues, hope continues, life is moving forward, but for the Ross family there is something huge missing, their son Jesse "Opie" Ross. They miss his presence, his humor, his love and life will never be the same for them until they know where Jesse might be.

Carlos Diaz, Monday4 the Missing

"Carlos, if you’re out there and you get a chance to hear this, somehow, some way, give us some sign of where you are because we love you and we miss you and it’s been a long time. You have 2 grandsons, that one is carrying your name, and wants to see you. And we love you. Oh God, that’s hard."

This is the message that Nancy Freneire, sister of Carlos Diaz, would like to convey to her brother. In an interview with Todd Matthews on his "Missing Pieces" show, Nancy recounts the events of December 23, 1986.

Carlos and his family were attending a reunion in the Bronx, NY home of another sister. The family dog had died and being that the dog was closest to Carlos, he went to bury it. As time went on and it got later, another brother noticed that Carlos left without any ID, which was unusual for him, felt that Carlos had plenty of time to bury the dog and return, and decided he better go out looking for him. The brother found the dog that Carlos had left with to bury, but there was no sign of Carlos anywhere.

When Carlos did not return home, the family made the decision to go to the police and file a missing persons report based on the facts that he was unlikely to stay away from his family and especially his little daughter. Due to the fact that Carlos was 32 at the time, he fell into a "guideline" that said it was assumed since he was an adult, he probably just took off. The family was not able to get the police to take a report.

Over 20 years have gone by and this family has continued their search for Carlos. The internet has provided places to list missing persons information, however, there are a lot of agencies and sites that can not do anything without a police missing persons report filed and no NCIC number to go by. Now, over 20 years later, the family is told that too much time has passed and the police will still not file a report.

Recently, Nancy was able to have a DNA sample taken and that sample may be the key to finding Carlos who is also listed in the Doe Network. Previous to going missing, Carlos had a head injury which could have resulted in memory loss. Could he be out there after all this time? Could he be in a facility not knowing who he really is? There could be any number of answers and his family is able to accept any of them as long as they know what happened to Carlos.

Nancy and her family, including the daughter of Carlos, have a huge void in their lives which can only be filled with answers. So many changes happen in a family in 20 years, fathers die, children grow up and have children of their own, and sisters and brothers go their separate ways. One thing has been a constant in the family of Carlos Diaz and that is that they miss him, they love him, and they will not stop searching for him. One day, with the help of organizations like NAMUS and DOE Network, and many others, this family will know the answers and they will finally be at peace.

April Susanne Wiss, Monday4 the Missing

April Susanne Wiss was 16 years old in January, 2000 and staying with a friend of her mother, Dee Clasen, in the same apartment building in Wichita, Kansas. April, nicknamed "Squeaky", apparently needed to see what life was like on her own outside of her mother's care and was probably testing her boundaries as most 16 year olds.

April was scheduled to testify as a witness in a felony trial on January 13, 2000, but she never made that date. Although she was apprehensive about the testimony, she agreed to testify as a witness. On the evening of January 11, just 2 days before the trial, April left home with her wallet, pager and keys, never to be heard from again.

According to Dee, April didn't just take off, although initially she was classified as a runaway, then re-

classified as a missing person. She had just given money to her roommate for food and rent, the money was still at their home, along with April's clothes and belongings things she would have needed if she was running away.

There have been no reports of whether April received a phone call before leaving her home, of a scheduled date. Her roommate had already gone to bed, so probably wouldn't know if a phone call came in for her. As in similar cases authorities are baffled and can't prove whether her disappearance is connected to testifying, whether she met with foul play, or if she left for California, which she had often wanted to do.

Dee Clasen has been a champion for the missing since April's disappearance. She has worked locally in Wichita to bring awareness to the many missing persons in Kansas, with Team Hope, and also has featured April with several missing persons organizations, including 411Gina and their "Squeaky Wheel Tour", CUE Center for Missing Persons and the "Road to Remember Tour", Project Jason and the "18 Wheel Angels".

Dee has been instrumental in honoring April this year at Peace4 the Missing by creating the "April Tree", an interactive way for members to support and encourage each other through the holiday season, which is extremely hard to enjoy when your loved one is missing.

Tommy Oeschlin, Monday4 the Missing

Ryan Knoedler disappeared from his family on October 15. For five long weeks his mother, Jacquie, sister, Kelly, and other family members did all they could to search for him and search for answers. They found support in their neighborhoods and online. You could feel in the writings of both Jacquie and Kelly that there was a desparation to find Ryan.

Their answers came on November 23 when police came to the home to tell them Ryan had been found. It wasn't the answer they were hoping for. Ryan had been in a terrible, fatal accident, and his car had just been found in a heavily wooded area and had gone undetected for five long weeks.

Today is the day the Knoedler family puts Ryan to rest. His memorial service will mark the end of the searching for Ryan, but a new beginning for his family. The beginning of healing, a long process of mending hearts broken and shattered.

As I sit here this late sunday evening starring at my blank computer screen,I am wondering how to write this piece..There is not alot of information to report and so little to go on..

Jeramy Burt is a son, brother and father who is deeply sadly missed. On Febuary 11th 2007 Jeramy left his home in Boise Idaho at ten thirty in the morning to go visit a friend..He never made it to his destination. Shortly after he went missing his ex-wife recieved a text stating that Jeramy was leaving and starting a new life else where..The question then and still is, Would a loving, caring father just up and abandon his three year old daughter? I would not think so..His family says that he would never leave behind his daughter..He loved her with every fiber of his soul..Months later the car he was driving which belonged to his ex-wife was found burnt in a remote desert..After sifting through the vehichle it is obviouse that someone was trying to destroy evidence of some sort..What actually happened in that car? Or for that matter who else was in that car? Who wanted so badly to hide something? And who was so desperate to hide or destroy Jeramy Burt?

I can't even imagine what the family of Jeramy Burt have and are going through..To have your loved one torn from you and vanish without a trace..Not knowing if he is alive or not..

Brandy Hanna, Monday4 the Missing

As time ticks forward, Donna Parent wakes up November 16th knowing it is her daughter's birthday. It won't be a day of usual parties and celebrations for this event. Brandy Hanna has been missing without a trace for over three years.

Brandy had her share of life's ups and downs, but by all indications she was turning a bend in her life, living on her own, although struggling to make ends meet. The day she was reported missing it is stated everything in her apartment looked like she had just stepped out of the room. All her belongings, money, cell phone, even the glass of tea she was drinking was left as if she would be back in a second. It has been three long years and she has not come back to finish that glass of tea.

Each year's events are marked with vigils, candles, prayers, balloon releases, all in order to keep the awareness of Brandy Hanna in the public eye. Donna Parent works tirelessly with organizations to accomplish that goal, and this year she spent the evening paying honor to another missing woman, Alice Donovan. It is the united effort of all family members of missing persons that will keep these cases fresh.

Detectives have followed every lead provided them with no success in finding Brandy. Family and friends do not believe Brandy left her home on her own accord, she did not even own a car, and no one has been named a suspect yet questions still remain as to Brandy's whereabouts and what happened to her on May 20, 2005.

Help Find Missing Person, Dylan Koshman!

We dedicate this Monday4, Missing Person Awareness efforts to help find the brother of one of our Peace4 the Missing Members, Tara Koshman.

Dylan Koshman, 21 years-old and originally of Moose Jaw, had been living in Edmonton, Alta., for approximately seven months when he disappeared Oct. 11.

Koshman left the home of his cousins, where he was living, after an argument broke out.

He left the house in a dark T-shirt and jeans at approximately 2 a.m. and hasn’t been seen since. His cellphone and bank account haven’t been used.

Koshman has brown hair and hazel eyes. He is in good physical condition at approximately 5’9” tall and weighing 190 lbs. A scar from a childhood accident resembles a deep dimple on his left cheek.

My thoughts and feelings on Dylan Koshman

Tonight Dylan will be missing for one month. Unfortunately we are no closer to finding him. We have no new information. This is what we do know:
He was last seen on Saturday October 11th at 2:30 am. His last cell phone ping was on the same tower at 3:30 am…. Then there is nothing. The only thing we know for sure is that Dylan is missing.

The police say it’s not illegal to be missing, but I think it should be. For everyone who knows Dylan knows that he is tight with his family. Dylan’s best friend is his brother Derek. They are two peas in a pod. He loves all his family, no matter if we fought with him or not. His cousins have nothing to do with his disappearance. In fact there is a witness to this. It was just a family fight, and there was alcohol involved. These are the circumstances, not the reason why he vanished.

I have many theories to why Dylan is gone, but none of them fit. I know that the easy answer is that he’s been hurt, or taken away. I will not believe this until there is proof. He is my brother; I love my brothers more than anything. You must think that sure there is a good chance that he is gone, but there is still a chance that he is alive. I am going to cling to that chance. No matter what the outcome we need to find him.

We will search the ends of the world to find him, but we cannot search every stretch of land, every bush. We cannot just shrug our shoulders and say we’ve done all we can do. We will get his face out there… Someone out there knows something, this is fact. We will wait for some information to come forward, and then we will search again. We need direction, until then we will have hope. Life will have to go on, but we will still be here.

Dylan is a younger brother to two; he is an older brother to two. He is a son, a grand-son, a nephew, a lover, and a friend. Dylan Koshman will not be forgotten!

987 Days Ago Stacy Grater seemingly disappeared off the face of this earth.

However, Stacy Grater did not just vanish and nothing but her could ever soothe the aching void her disappearance has left behind.

There's been a hole in the world since Stacy Grater went Missing. A daily stark crater in the lives of the many who miss her, a gaping abyss in the life of Stacy Grater's child longing for her Mom, the cries of a niece begging for her to answer, the many friends who've been aimlessly lost since she's been gone.

It sadly appears that Stacy Grater's Missing Persons Case has been somewhat neglected by Law Enforcement. Donna Jou, Monday4 the Missing

We live our lives everyday without worries or cares of the danger that lurks behind those dark corners that we know are there but choose to ignore. Thinking "that will never happen to me". But the reality of that is we are wrong.

Our lives can change just like that! In a blink of an eye. Without notice. Everyday living, normal events and routine should be anything but dangerous you would think. But it is not. Who would have thought that going to a party would change the lives of so many innocent people? And It did for Donna Jou and her family.

Donna Jou was a young lady with dreams, goals, expectations and her whole life ahead of her until she met with a man named John Steven Burgess on a website called craigslist..She was offering her services as a math tutor and John Burgess was listing rooms for rent at his home in Los Angeles. Donna did not know this man was a sex offender, he failed to register himself.

Donna being the trusting person that she is, not aware of the evil that lurks in the shadows. Met up with this man John Steven Burgess and jumped on his motorcycle to attend a party at his house for the evening on June 23 2007. She said bye to her mother without thinking twice and took off down the road.

Donna Jou has not been seen since. On June 24th the next day Nili Jou receives a text message from her daughters cell phone saying "batteries dying. In San Diego. Be home soon. I love you mommy" Was that text from Donna Jou? Her mom does not seem to think so because of the format in which the text was wrote..That very same day Donna's family report her missing to Orange county sheriffs office after she does not show up for work or school.

John Burgess roommate tell police that Donna was at the party and on July 5th Burgess was seen packing cardboard boxes in his truck and that's the last time he has seen him.

A few days later a man finds a box stuffed under some vines a mile and a half away from Burgess home, with a vanity license plate "SINJIN1" from Burgess truck, a black motorcycle helmet, rubber dish washing gloves, rope and a scrub brush. Why was John Burgess hiding these items? One can only speculate because he gives no answers to what he did to Donna or where she is..

Burgess who is now serving a three year sentence in prison on charges of failure to register as a sex offender continues to taunt the family of Donna Jou. He is the only one who knows exactly what happened to Donna and where she is but he says nothing..And why..To try to save himself? ...He keeps this all to himself because he can. Because he is selfish, uncaring, heartless, sick, disgrace to human kind, and evil. I mean for Pete's sakes he likes to touch himself in front of children and touch them..He should have been locked up and the key be thrown away from the start..Why would anyone let this sick twisted man walk the streets with our children anyway!! Or another person for that matter.

A search was conducted December 29-30 through out the Santa Monica Mountains in Malibu..And yet the question still remains...Where is Donna Jou and what happened to her?

How does one continue to draw strength to go on searching and looking for answers that never seem to be in reach..Determination, love, hope and peace. Something I myself have learned from my own experience with my missing mother.

To Nila and Reza Jou, your family and Donna are thought of greatly..Your pain, and sorrow is heard and felt by all. Even by people who have not walked in your shoes. Your Donna is touching so many lives and hearts. YOU are touching so many lives and hearts...Especially mine.

When I read this, my heart literally skipped a beat.
It is so typical
of how the missing are viewed by LE (everywhere)
and those who foolishly think,

"that will never happen to me,
Those things only happen to other people."

From what I have read, BRENDA did not leave willingly,
especially on her son's first birthday. Who would miss that
milestone? Not to mention, no personal items were missing.

Along with Ms. Lambert, MARK ANTHONY COOK is
missing from that same area. Surely, someone somewhere
knows just the right piece of information that could possibly
bring not one, but two families closure.

After a loved one goes missing there are no more ordinary
days.

From that day forward perspectives and personalities change.

I hope BRENDA's children were told the good about her and
not just the bad. I hope all children of the missing know
they were not abandoned and given the choice their mom
(mommy, momma, ma, mum, mother,...) would be home
with their children.

Details of Disappearance
Starkel was last seen leaving his girlfriend's home in Palmdale, California on December 5, 1979. Authorities believe he did arrive at his own apartment afterwards, but he has never been heard from again. Starkel was driving a dark green Pontiac Firebird with Nevada license plates at the time of his disappearance. His vehicle was recovered two weeks later, when it was pulled over driving into California from Nevada. Another individual was driving the vehicle and there was no sign of Starkey. The person was arrested and held for about two weeks, but eventually released for lack of evidence connecting him to Starkey's disappearance. Starkey's case remains unsolved.

I've been sifting through google, looking for whatever information I can find about Tom. One thing that has me a bit puzzled is the fact that Tom disappeared without a trace, and someone else was found driving his vehicle. (arrested then later released due to lack of evidence) YET when I view .state.ca.us/ Tom is listed as a Voluntary Missing Adult?

North American Missing Persons, a sister site of The Doe Network, or the National Center for Missing Adults.

What I see is one dedicated Hollyjean, posting on every missing person's forum she can find...in hopes of having that one question answered...What happened to Tom Starkel?

Christina Calayca, Monday4 the Missing

Christina Calayca has one of the widest, happiest smiles I have ever seen along with a twinkle in her eye that makes her whole face sparkle with life.

Christina was not a rugged outdoors type person according to family members and it is a mystery to them that she would be jogging at the Rainbow Falls Provincial Park in Canada. She had told family members that she was planning a trip to Montreal for a Christian retreat over a long weekend, and they feel if she went camping it would be somewhere that there was a semblance of civilization and amenities, not in a primitive, rugged area. Apparently Christina and her friends decided to ditch the Montreal plans and headed for the area near Thunder Bay.

It is reported that she was going for a jog with a fire fighter friend, got tired and said she was turning back. She never made it back to the rugged campsite and what happened next continues to be a mystery. The park is so rugged that searchers who were covering the are were injured and a search dog also went missing. There are several drop offs in the hilly, rough terrain and the family was kept back from the search area because of the dangers.

After 17 days of massive searching they turned up no clues as to what happened to Christina. They continue to go up and down the many trails that she could have taken and the authorities do not suspect foul play from any of her friends she travelled there with. Black bear attack has been ruled out, also.

A year after she went missing on August 6, 2007, her mother has peace within feeling that Christina is in heaven. Her friends live with the regrets of leaving her to jog alone, but no one has forgotten her and that beautiful smile.

By all accounts she was a vibrant 20 year old and loved by many. She is missed by her close knit family and friends. Her family is trying to raise $100,000 to renew extensive searching for her.

"The peace that I have after that," Rutledge (Christina's mother)breathes. "I said truly she is in heaven. She is really taken care of by God."

Brenda Joan Allen Szabo

Brenda Joan Allen Szabo started having children at the age of 17. She left her first born, a 7 month old son, on the steps of a New York City Police station. Around the same time her then boyfriend died of a drug over dose and she left town when police tried to question her about it.

Brenda continued to have three more children by different fathers who also died tragic deaths including heroin overdose, suicide and a car accident. Brenda used a number of aliases as she crisscrossed the country and had several run ins with the law along the way. In the 70's Brenda landed in jail for her part in an armed robbery, and left her last daughter, Elizabeth Jeanette, in foster care until she got out.

In a letter to her social worker, Brenda confided doubts in her ability to be a mother and stated in that letter "I never looked at life or being a mother realistically....I have to do something for myself before I can do anything for Lisa [Elizabeth] ..I do love her."

The 80's came and Brenda made an attempt to pull her life together, get clean from drugs, and enrolled in a community college while working as a dog grooomer. A prior violation of her probation landed her back in prison at Frontera State Prison..

When she was released, she told relatives that she was heading to Dallas and would call in two weeks. She was last seen in San Diego, CA, and has never been heard from since March 1, 1983. She would now be 59 years old and a grandmother.

Her daughter, Elizabeth Alldridge, has been on a quest to find her mother since she was 18, and her search has led her to find all of her siblings, but not Brenda Szabo, their mother. She combed adoption records and pulled together some of the pieces of a family that was disbanded before it had a chance. Elizabeth feels that when Brenda was released from Frontera she embarked on a new life and has not looked back, that she is out there somewhere.

In an interview with Todd Matthews, Elizabeth tells a lot about her quest, her found siblings, and her feelings about the possiblity that Brenda Szabo has found a new life and may not want to be found.

The Benjamin Kyle story is a different twist on missing persons cases. You see, we know where he is, but, it isn't really him. If that sounds odd to you, please let it be known that missing persons cases are never cut and dried or even as similar as we think.

Benjamin Kyle is the name a man, believed to be in his mid 50's, has taken for himself for the last 4 years. This man was found naked and beaten, most likely left for dead, beside a dumpster in Richmond Hill, Georgia, just south of Savannah. When he was found, he had no identification and no memory of who he is and where he came from.

He started using the name "Benjamin Kyle" but was listed as a living "John Doe" and has been listed with The Doe Network so that workers there can help him figure out who he is, or who he was.

Through the tireless efforts of Todd Matthews, Project EDAN was able to do age "regressed" pictures so that someone might recognize him from his former life. Todd is leading the development of NamUs, an organization to identify the many "Does", and will include living "Does" into that system.

In the meantime, Benjamin Kyle is said to be a well spoken, above average intelligence man who carries himself with a professional demeanor.

Maybe someone will recognize him today and help him find himself.

Bruce Falconer, Missing Since 1981

Monday4 the Missing would like to welcome you to our first venture in this project. We have chosen to honor Bruce Falconer. We hope that as time goes by, many bloggers will join us in featuring a missing person entry on your sites each Monday.

Bruce Falconer was a Marine from the time he was 16 years old, joining with his mother's approval. In 1981 he had just been promoted to sergeant and was home on leave in Bismark, South Dakota before leaving for Yuma, Arizona, catching up with old friends, including Tim Jewell.

The two of them went out the night of February 20, and hit a few bars, later going to a spot along the Missouri River known as the "Desert" in Bruce's Blazer. The evening did not turn out as Bruce and Tim had planned. What happened still remains a mystery which investigators have worked on for a long 27 years.

Bruce's mother, Dorothy, has said that after a long time with no results of searches, she made up her mind to not become a bitter, grieving woman for the sake of her remaining family. The Marines had Bruce declared dead five years after his disappearance.

In December, 1992 a hunter found skeletal remains in the "Desert" and investigators felt sure they were either Bruce Falconer or Tim Jewell. After dental records were checked it was determined that they were, in fact, the remains of Tim Jewell, and medical examiners determined that Tim had died of exposure.

Although much time had passed, Dorothy sobbed at Tim Jewell's funeral, still not able to rest in her own heart knowing that her son, Bruce, has still not been found. Investigators state that all possibilities are still being checked to this day, it is still an open investigation, and that they will not give up.

This must give Dorothy at least a small bit of comfort to know that there are those who will not forget her son, Bruce Falconer.

Mondays4 the Missing

This blog is designed to feature a missing person's case each and every Monday that has not been given adequate attention by the media or law enforcement agencies. The statistics show almost a million people in our country are reported missing each year and only a handful of those cases are considered newsworthy.

We believe that all missing persons are important. They are someone's loved one and the devastation it causes in the lives of those families that are left behind is staggering.

We are now in the planning and working stages of this project. Our plan is to contact as many bloggers as we can that would be willing to devote their Monday entries to a particular missing person. We will contact you and let you know which case will be featured, some background information on each case and links to where you can read anything that we can find on the missing person.

We hope that you will say yes to our invitation and become a part of a blogroll that will be set up in the near future. If we can all unite and give attention to that one missing person, maybe we can be instrumental in bringing someone home to the ones who miss and love them.
